Let me start out by saying that if you or someone you know is suffering from back pain you are in the right place . Here at Healing in Motion Physical Therapy we help people in Denver and Surrounding Areas find relief from back pain without medications, invasive procedures or visits to a doctor's office.
Back pain is very common and about 80% of population will have at least one episode of back pain in their lifetime. According to American Chiropractic Association, back pain is a cause for 264 million lost work days a year, which is 2 days per full-time employee. This means, 2 days a year are wasted on the couch in complete misery. What if you could reverse it and spend time with family and friends instead? Or gardening? Or hiking? Or skiing? Back pain can be very scary, especially when you don’t know what you are dealing with. It is difficult to think rationally when every time you move you feel a jolt of pain. It is perfectly normal to be frustrated and cranky when dealing with back pain. You may also be wondering if it is a sign of something more serious and if you may need surgery. Well, let me put your mind at ease by saying that most episodes of back pain are mechanical in nature and are can come from a variety of sources: discs, joints, nerves or muscles. The cause of back pain is usually due to a muscular imbalance of pushing, pulling and compressive forces. Do you notice that your muscles are pulling you to one side? Do you tend to sit shifted to one side or feel like you always have to cross your legs? Do you notice a catch when you try to stand up, or you find it difficult to straighten up. You may also feel like you can't bend forward. These symptoms are signs of a muscular imbalance. In my experience of treating patients with upper and lower back pain, our lifestyle and posture are the prime contributors to the spinal dysfunction. Unfortunately, when back pain is making it difficult to move, you end up giving up activities and sports you love. It became my mission to help my patients get their mobility and independence back and return to the lifestyle they want to live. You don’t have to sacrifice activities you love over problems that can be fixed You see, a lot of our patients who suffer from back pain ask us the same questions… ● Why does my back pain hurt so much?
